Start/Finish
We start with a whistle, a second blast of the whistle means that a restart is to be held – you must stop and reassemble
on the line. Anyone who triggered the restart by starting before the whistle may be put to the back of the grid
We ring the bell to announce the last lap when the leader goes past the start/finish line as close to 8.15
as possible. All racers finish when the leader has completed the race – Stop when you see us waving the chequered flag.
Race Numbers
Please hand numbers back at the end of the race. There will be a £1 deposit for numbers.
Helmets/Bikes
No license or affiliation to a governing body required – just turn up, pay your money, wear a crash helmet (hard
shell) and ride a properly maintained mountain bike fitted with bar end plugs.
Riders taking part on cyclo-cross bikes will not score points or take prize money.
We will not tolerate aggressive behaviour, acts of violence, racist or sexist remarks etc. We will disqualify for
these offences.
Please try to keep your emotions in check – we know it can be very busy out there in short course racing and it is
frustrating when you are held up. Racing isn't just about speed, it's also about track craft – knowing when to overtake
etc. Race rage can work against you. A polite but clear call to another rider works better than shouting abuse . We ask
slower riders to keep a watch out for faster riders and to give way if practicable or safe. When overtaking say 'track –
left' or right (I want to pass on your left/right) etc.
Protests
Any protest must be made to the organisers as early as practicable.
Etc.
We will not be held responsible for loss or damage to equipment.
Keep your bike locked or bring a friend.
We do not seed riders - slower or fun riders are asked to start in the rear.
We reserve the right to change the rules if appropriate.
