ROUND 2
Despite the amount of rain on preceding days, the track was dry in most places (not dusty trails!) and round 2 saw a total
of 55 racers across all categories.
It was really good to see so many new U10 and U12 racers - many being homebred from the recent Go-Ride courses provided
by the club's own qualified coaches. If only the coaches could claim the success of our first ever Bedgebury Forest Cycle
Club winner - but they can't - it was all down to the skill and speed of Robin Jarvis!
One of the marshalls commented after that whilst many riders were obviously very competitive, there were many other riders
who were having a laugh and joke with each other - something very pleasing to see. Too many, the winning is all but too many
others, it is the fun of taking part.
David Cole of Quench Cycles also passed on many positive comments that had been made to him about the days events - so
thanks have to be made to Ray Blackwell and the 'army of boars' in support.
To Dick Collins of Torq Kona/VC Deal, we take our hats off for a superb example of how to dominate from the front - WELL
DONE!
We do hope many of you will return for round 3.
Go-MTB Series 2008
Following
on from the inaugaural race series last year, we'll be running a four race series this spring/summer.
It
will use a lengthened version of the existing short course to give a circuit of approximately 3km length which will be
varied slightly for each race and will be separate from the public single track and the family trail.
This means we can race on Saturday mornings, which should hopefully open up the events for
more competitors..
