had a response to my email from TWBC this morning which simply said,

"Thank you for your comments received on the above application. To enable us to keep you informed of the progress of the application and to take your views into consideration when making our decision we need your full postal address"

So if you are emailing do include your postal address

Am I being cynical or is that just so they check local support - afterall, it is only local people the council have to keep happy when it comes to local elections.

Had that thought myself, you are probably right Carl. :(

Why else would they need it? All you tunbridge residents will have to email all your friends in the area and get there support! ;)

Hi all

I also wrote to the council a couple of weeks ago - have had confirmation that letter has been received.

Well, I've received a letter following the planning meeting last week. Good news and bad ....

The good news is the extension has been granted for another year - the bad news is there are so many restrictions and one being that it can only be used in June, July and August. As we are now in September, the overflow car park cannot be used. As a result, the Visitor Centre was closed for a period on Sunday as the main car park was full.

Don't panic just yet as the FC are looking at their options but it is fair to assume that if we have good weather at the weekends and school holidays, there is a chance the car park will be closed at some point during the day.

So what do we do? Plan our visits to avoid busy times (who wants to park on the field anyway?) but if we find the car park is closed, continue to be respectfull to the parking attendants - it is not their fault.

I'm waiting on some 'official' wording from the FC to put on the front page but until then, check your letter box - if you wrote and requested to be kept up to date, you should receive a written response that goes into far more detail than I have put here.

Carl - yes I got mine.

The real issue here I guess is whether the FC can get their stuff together and generate a plan to extend/maximise the utilisation of the existing car park within the 12 months they have to sort this. The attendants certainly seemed to be working harder last weekend.

My worry is that people will start parking in the passing places in the road from the A21 - and chaos will ensue.
all the gear and absolutely no idea...

John,

Whilst that may become an issue, it may change local opinion toward the use of the field as a car park and help with future applications relating to the parking.

Just an opinion, of course .....
