Ladies Specific 2-day Course
Beginners - More to follow later in the year
These two-day courses aim to teach riders the core key skills necessary to tackle the 13km off-road single track at Bedgebury Forest. The course will look at the various techniques required to be a competent and confident rider in an off-road environment, although the skills learnt can apply to any cycling discipline. These non-technical courses should be fun for all female riders. It covers many aspects of mountain biking from basic bike control to more advance riding skills. You will learn cornering, braking, gear changing, balance and coordination and much more.
Each morning there will be a skills development session. In the afternoon we set out to ride the single track course and apply what we have learnt. We look to set the development of the riders at a pace and level driven by the group. With none of the usual male bravado you will hopefully relax and learn at your own pace.
Our aim is to make off-road cycling fun and encourage skills development. The qualified and highly experience coaches are dedicated to passing on the techniques that look so easy, but can prove so difficult to execute. BFCC’s dedicated coaching area provides a safe & friendly environment in which all riders of all abilities can achieve new skills and confidence.
Adult Intermediate Course – 2 days
More to follow later in the year
This course is designed to help many riders who can complete the Bedgebury single track course, albeit apprehensively and occasional difficultly with some sections. We will cover and develop many of the basic skills, giving insight to how to improve your technique and how to overcome those difficult sections of the single track. The course will be adapted with guidance and direction of the riders, therefore tailoring learning to the groups personal objectives.
This course will be a great introduction to moving onto the advance courses when your confidence and techniques have been practised.
Advanced Adult Skill Courses – Limited to just 8 riders, so book fast!
More to follow later in the year
Each session will focus specifically on all the individual techniques that collectively make up the skill you wish to improve your knowledge and competence in. Initially training will be within the dedicated training area so that we can offer controlled individual coaching, followed by a ride out into the forest to test your new skills.
This course is aimed at competent off-road riders with a good grounding knowledge in bike handling skills, but is looking to improve their skills or indeed tackle some of the advanced skills for the first time. We always start with the basic skills to ensure we have a solid foundation of core technique before moving onto the advance techniques. Speed of development will be group/rider driven and may take more than one session to achieve your own personal goals.
