Coaching Support at Bedgebury

Each year we have increased the number of coaches and activities we offer to our members. In particular we have built up a busy Junior Club section that will be more demanding than ever this year. To help provide a safe environment for our Junior riders we require a minimum of two and often three responsible adults, including at least one Coach who has overall responsibility for the coaching session.

We need your support and help.
Are you a keen MTB rider? Over the age of 18? Would like to give something back to the sport? Have some available time over weekends? If you answer YES to the above then we would welcome your support.

What’s involved?
As a coaching support volunteer you will be asked to support the Coach in helping supervise Junior members of the Club during coaching activities or rides in the forest or possible out-rides to other venues. You will not be coaching, but be acting as a responsible adult to help ensure the safety of all riders. Activities will normally be on Saturday mornings between 9.30am to 12.30pm.

What qualifications do I need?
None – just a competent MTB rider.
You will be asked to complete a Criminal Records Bureau check.
It would be helpful if you had a valid First Aid certificate and the Club would consider funding a level 1 coaching certificate for those who wish to develop their skills and commitment to the Club.

What next?
If you would like more information or wish to volunteer, then please contact our Head Coach - Gary Scott - on Gscot1@aol.com or 0789 641 2223.
